New Ham Help

Our “New Ham Help” program has a goal of helping people who are new to Ham radio in whatever way they may need assistance with getting on-the-air with Amateur Radio.  We’ll begin with a round table discussion and go over some of the basics of getting on the air and setting up your amateur radio station.  There will also be plenty of time to answer any questions you may have.  Toward the end of the session we’ll visit the club’s radio room and get on the air.     In the second session we’ll continue with more details about amateur radio and answer more of your questions.  After you complete the second session you’ll be assigned a personal ham radio mentor from our club who will be available to work with you one-on-one, should you wish additional assistance or guidance in operating or setting up your amateur radio station.  Your mentor can also call on others within our club who have specific expertise or equipment that may be helpful to you.

Our New Ham Help round-tables are usually on Saturday mornings in Tinton Falls NJ.  We are considering adding evening sessions for those who are not able to attend the Saturday sessions.
